HowIMadeThis.com is a simple idea. Firstly some of the better domain names were already taken. That issue aside, I just thought it would be a great idea to have a forum to show off some of the cool stuff either I or other people have made themselves. What kind of stuff? Well if you just bought a new car and you put a sticker on the rear bumber and are presumptuous enough to even want to announce from your rooftop, "look what I did!" well you won't find that here. What you will find is (hopefully) alot of neat stuff and how their creators made their unique creations. Why the crazy logo? You may be wondering where the logo came from. To launch the site, my first (albeit pretty lame) contribution was simply how to make an antenna smiley ball with a little extra pinache. We've all seen the antenna balls with cowboy hats, baseball caps, etc. Nobody had one with a mohawk so I made one and it became the first posting on this site. So now you know. Why yet another "how to" site? This isn't a how-to site. Next question. Okay technically I suppose it is but none of the stuff here, at least for the most part, are professional creations crafted by artisans with decades of experience. Of course you could be but that's not the point. Do you have something cool you made that you want to show off to the rest of the world, and thought it clever enough to explain how you made it? Here is where to show it. Now you're getting the idea... Cool stuff submissionsIf you want to submit something, e-mail me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it explaining what you've made and we'll go about trying to get it on the site. Simple. By the way if it isn't already a given, I won't post any copyrighted material or use any trademarks that don't belong to you. By posting something on the site you are encouraging others to try your idea (otherwise why would you bother detailing how you did it). Postings won't show up on the site until someone (probably me) has had a chance to review them. This could be as soon as two minutes or as long as a day or two. Oh and if I haven't mentioned it yet, enjoy the site! About Earnie Shoes"Is that your real name?" you may be asking yourself. No of course not. I prefer to stay anonymous. This site isn't about me it's about neat ideas and how people brought them to fruition. I chose the pseudonym "Earnie Shoes" simply because at the time I was wondering what alter-ego to use, I was wearing round-toe running shoes of the kind Earnie from Sesame Street always wore. Apologies in advance to anyone actually named "Earnie Shoes"...
